This section of the site was created to gather questions for the Alden Township meeting that took place on July 2, 2009. I am leaving up for now just in case anyone should want to still refer to it for some reason. If you post in here, I will do my best to answer your question.
Please add questions below as comments. This section is for general questions that do not fit into the other categories provided.

Q. for MCDOT: what signifigance does being reclasifide an stategic regional arterial (sra) bring to the design of the project in comparison to an arterial class it was prior? upgraded standards for examle.
I would like to add to this. I have been trying to determine what the definitions of arterial, principal arterial, and strategic regional arterial actually are today to be certain I am accurate in my terminology and understanding. Furthermore, which one exactly is Alden Road considered now? I found a list on the MCDOT website here (PDF, 17k) which lists Alden Road as an arterial. I also located this document on the MCDOT website which lists Alden Road as a principal arterial south of Route 173 and as an arterial to the north. I think this needs clarification and explanation as to the implications of being classified as whatever it is this road actually is now.
I would like to know if they buy/take the land for their project we are now considered not owning 5 acres of land? Will we in the end be paying taxes on 4acres rather than 5acres. Will they be responsible for paying taxes on the land they take from us?
Wendy
Will the township turn into being corporated instead of unincorporated and will our taxes be raised due to this Alden Road Construction.
Wendy, I have been wondering about the zoning as well. We are zoned E-5 (Estate 5-acre), as are many residents. If we were to no longer have 5 acres after the proposed land acquisition, what will we be zoned? And yeah, our property taxes should definitely go down if we have less land, but will they? They should have gone down because my home value has now gone down due to the economic downturn, but my property tax bill did not reflect that.
